Text Messaging Terms

Last updated: October 2026

These terms describe how Cape Ann Symphony Orchestra ("we," "us," "the Symphony") uses text messages (SMS) to communicate with patrons who purchase concert tickets.

What this program is

The Symphony sends a small number of transactional and informational text messages to patrons who voluntarily provide their mobile phone number. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages.

Messages may include:

  • A link to save your concert ticket to your phone's wallet (Apple Wallet or Google Wallet).
  • A confirmation after you purchase a ticket.
  • An occasional reminder on the day of a concert you have a ticket for.
  • A notification if the time, date, or venue of a concert you have a ticket for changes.

How you sign up

You sign up in one of two ways, both on our website:

  1. At checkout — when you buy a ticket at capeannsymphony.org/checkout, you enter your mobile phone number on the checkout form. The form tells you exactly what we'll use the number for.
  2. On the ticket help page — at capeannsymphony.org/help/get-your-tickets, you can enter your email to have the ticket link texted to the phone number we already have for your order.

By providing your number, you agree to receive transactional text messages from the Symphony at that number. You're not agreeing to receive marketing messages, and we'll never send any.

Message frequency

Low. Most patrons receive one or two messages per concert they buy tickets for. The Symphony presents roughly 6–8 concerts per season.

Cost

Message and data rates may apply. The Symphony does not charge for text messages, but your wireless carrier may charge for incoming SMS based on your plan. Check with your carrier if you're unsure.

How to stop receiving messages

Reply STOP to any text message we send. You'll receive a one-time confirmation that you've been unsubscribed, and we won't text you again. You can resubscribe at any time by replying START, or by entering your phone number at checkout the next time you buy a ticket.

How to get help

Reply HELP to any text message for a brief response with our contact information, or call the box office at (978) 281-0543 Tuesday through Friday, 10 AM – 3 PM.

Carrier disclaimer

Cape Ann Symphony Orchestra is not responsible for the delivery, delay, or non-delivery of text messages, which depend on your wireless carrier. Carriers, including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, US Cellular, and others, are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Privacy

We never share, sell, or rent your phone number to third parties. Phone numbers we collect are stored solely for the purposes described above. For more on how we handle personal information, see our Privacy Policy.
