Lello Molinari — Bassist, Bandleader & Educator
Bassist, band leader, and educator, Lello Molinari was born and raised in Italy where he studied at the Scuola Civica de Sesto San Giovanni in Milan. He has a Bachelor of Music in performance from Berklee College and of Music and in jazz studies from New England Conservatory. He is Principal Bass with the Melrose Symphony Orchestra, the Hillyer Festival Orchestra, the Salem Philharmonic, the Quincy Symphony Orchestra and the assistant principal with the Cape Ann Symphony.
He is very active in the Jazz scene, and collaborates with many groups around the New England area. He has recorded 5 CDs as a leader, 2CDs as a co-leader, and numerous as a sideman.
Lello has performed and recorded with well known jazz musicians including Joe Lovano, George Garzone, Kenny Wheeler, Mike Melillo, Victor Lewis, & Jerry Bergonzi.
Lello is currently a Professor at Berklee College of Music where he has been teaching since 1997.
